Planet of the Vampires
A spaceship crew crashes on an alien planet and succumb to a strange space madness.
Planet of the Vampires is Space Gothic: the movie is about an atmosphere. There is very little tension in Planet of the Vampires that outlasts an individual scene, and very little plot - the movie does a good job of getting plot out of the way as efficiently as possible so we can appreciate the production design.
These are the good guys in Planet of the Vampires. The hero is the older fellow on the far left. Nothing in the world of Planet of the Vampires isn’t something you could immediately identify if I asked you to pick out the things that belong in a movie called “Planet of the Vampires”.
The movie is complete, simple, and beautiful. I recommend playing it on mute on a large TV at your next Halloween party.
