Mortal Kombat (Movie)
1995. Paul W.S. Anderson
Some stock characters fight in a martial arts tournament to determine the fate of the universe. Above all, this movie is unashamed.
The movie looks like a CD-ROM menu. Characters only ever say what you expect them to, three seconds after you expect them to say it. Half way through, the movie abandons narrative entirely and just shows twenty minutes of no-context, Queensrÿche-video-looking combat nonsense. This is the best part of the movie.
If you like "The Matrix" but can't enjoy "Mortal Kombat", then someone hurt you in a way that hasn't yet healed.
