A television reporter uncovers a conspiracy perpetrated by his own network.
Max Headroom, the VTuber who existed before Youtube or VR, is hardly present in this movie, and that’s a good thing. Instead, the movie is about media and technology devouring the world. None of the characters have any real agency, they tumble through a nightmare, trying to get paid. The movie ends when its runtime of 1 hour is over.
To be absolutely clear - you should watch Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future. You will enjoy it. It is deeply hopeless but funny and clever and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It is a punk movie along side Repo Man and Return of the Living Dead.
The Max Headroom movie isn’t available for streaming, because of course it isn’t. It is available at full length on YouTube, because of course it is.
