Manos: The Hands of Fate

The movie Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966) does not work. It is a bad movie - essentially unwatchable without commentary or other supporting apparatus.

It has inspired a careful restoration Blu-Ray from original sources, several sequels and a puppet musical among other things.

It’s not clear why some movies that are terrible are just terrible, and other movies that are terrible are amusingly terrible. Certainly, attempts to make something like Manos on purpose don’t work the same way, if they work at all. The sequels and puppet musical are examples of how much one can and can’t manufacture an amusing fiasco.
